Research on Vision 2030
Introduction: We were assigned a group assignment to conduct a research on ‘Vision 2030’. This artifact is selected to represent the competency of team work as a group of four members was made by teacher to make students aware of perks and complications of working in team. We discussed the initiatives of vision 2030 and ways in which it benefits the economy and society of Saudi Arabia. I used my oral communication, problem solving and collaboration skills to complete this assignment.
Reflection: I learnt to work in a team and understanding how important it is to collaborate with group members while doing team work. This assignment taught me that dividing work into team members assist in easy completion of tasks, but a group leader must be very capable in delegating and communicating tasks to each member. Also, team members must be collaborative with each other and frequently update the group leader about work in process for easy performance of tasks. I will try to assist my team mates with their work if I repeat this assignment. I will suggest other students to hold their temper as they may encounter any conflictive situation when working as a team.
Presentation on ‘Building Effective Teams’
Introduction: Our teacher gave a group assignment to prepare a presentation on ‘Building Effective Teams’. The artifact is selected to represent the competency of team work as we had to prepare presentation by working in group of three members. Through this assignment, our group was able to research essentials of building effective teams in an organization and we also built trust on each other. My skills of research, collaboration, communication and flexibility helped me in completing this assignment with my group mates.
Reflection: This assignment taught me a lot of lessons about team work as I learnt the importance of diversity and size of team, skills of members, flexibility and role of management in building effective teams for organization. I also learnt that environment of trust is crucial in team work as it enables members to share their creative ideas without fearing judgment by team mates. If I repeat this assignment, I will encourage my group mates by praising their work and providing positive feedback as it increases efficiency of team. I will suggest other students to be responsive and flexible towards group mates while doing this assignment as it will help them in accomplishing tasks efficiently.
Banking Deregulation
Introduction: The instructor assigned a group assignment to us on the topic of banking deregulation. This assignment involved the teamwork and thus my skills related to teamwork were utilized while carrying out the task. In this assignment, we worked together and cooperated with each other. This assignment made the use of our skills of communication, interpersonal relationship, conflict management and coordination.
Reflection: While working on this assignment, I learnt to work effectively in a team. I learnt how the teamwork could be made efficient with the use of good collaboration among the team members. I learn how working in a team can be successful if all motivate and support each other. If I get to repeat this assignment, I will prefer the fragmentation of the task and the delegation of responsibilities among all team members. Students who undertake similar assignments in future should adopt the same approach and should avoid getting into conflicts by being ready to accept the differences while working in a team.
Financial Analysis
Introduction: We were assigned a group assignment on the financial analysis on the Aghtia Company. This assignment was to be done in the team so it used my skills of teamwork along with the communication and collaboration, critical analysis research and conflict management skills. I also learnt how the financial analysis of a company is done and what kind of data is required for that. The teamwork skills were the main component fort the assignment’s completion.
Reflection: This assignment facilitated my skills of teamwork as I learnt how to avoid conflicts while working in a team. I learnt the importance of diversified culture and how such culture can affect the environment of the organization. If I repeat this assignment, I would lead the team and would encourage all my team members to introduce creativity in their assigned tasks. Students are advised to do such assignments with an approach that promotes the collaboration among team members and align their tasks so as to avoid any kind of repetition.
