Research Report on ‘Internet Safety’
Introduction: I was assigned by my teacher to make an individual report on ‘Internet Safety’. This artifact is selected to denote communication competency as I was required to collect data from internet sources and write a report by using good communication skills. My skills of written communication including proper use of grammar and prepositions, making research length of requisite word count and using facts to interest readers were used in this artifact.
Reflection: I learnt from this artifact that a person must be able to present the information in accordance with the guidelines of research. In this assignment, I was required to converse about the causes and effects of internet safety in a limited word count that increased my capability to only put most useful information in my research. If I repeat the assignment, I will conduct a field study by performing interviews with respondents that will improve my oral communication skills as well. I will advise other students to carefully evaluate information while doing this research and avoid plagiarism at all costs as it leads to failure in grades.
Essay on ‘My Favorite Books’
Introduction: We were assigned by course teacher to write an essay on “My Favorite Books”. I wrote essay on Al Chemist, Thousand Splendid Suns and Forty Rules of Love that are my all time favorite novels. This essay assisted me to think like a critique as I carefully examined the story of novels along with investigating the strengths and weaknesses of their authors. This assignment gave me utmost pleasure as I was able to provide feedback and constructive criticism on international novels. My skills of writing, critique and brainstorming helped me in doing this assignment.
Reflection: This assignment taught me how to provide constructive criticism on books without using harsh words and my vocabulary was also improved. I was also able to write my personal opinion on lessons learnt from novels and how the story caught my attention. I will suggest authors how they can improve their story line if I repeat this assignment. I will advise other students to carefully choose the books for this essay which they have read before and use wise words while providing feedback as harsh words leads to negative criticism.
Presentation on Peace and Tolerance
Introduction: A power point presentation was assigned to me in my business communication course. I described both the concepts in a general contextual framework and justified their need in the society. This assignment was aimed at enhancing my communication skills as it included the both the written and oral communication. I did the fundamental research on the internet to complete my presentation and utilized my written and oral communication skills while making it.
Reflection: This assignment facilitated the improvement and enhancement in my written and oral communication skills. I got my grammar and language knowledge improved and learnt the use of connecting words. I learnt how to organize a presentation on a topic of general interest and how to make it interesting and attractive for the audience while delivering the presentation. My advice to the students would be to make a proper research on the topic and write in their own words so that they can advance their vocabulary and grammatical language skills.
Presentation on Business Writing
Introduction: The assignment was given to me during the course of my business communication. I was required to give a general overview of the business writing along with the brief description of its objective and types. The assignment was based on the artefact of communication as it was to be made on the business writing with the use of written and oral communication skills. I researched the topic under consideration and practiced oral delivery of the presentation numerous times.
Reflection: This assignment improved my communication competency in that my learning of sentence structure got advanced and my accent and pronunciation got improved as I rehearsed the oral delivery of the presentation multiple times. I learn the best techniques to make the presentations exciting for the viewers so that they can not lose their interest therein. I would recommend the students to make the presentation with the use of bullet points and ad pictorial matters in it as much as possible so that they can easily communicate their desired message.
